About the Author — Mildred Reeves Burnett
Mildred Reeves Burnett was born and raised in a farm family with five brothers and two sisters in Charleston, Missouri. As a youth she assisted her parents in the home, gardening during season, and her brother Byron Reeves in feeding and watering livestock and other farm chores.
After attending Charleston High School, she went to William Woods College at Fulton, Missouri for a year. She then married Al Stotts Burnett, a Charleston fellow who was in the U.S. Air Force.
In January 1991, the couple moved to Branson, Missouri from Charleston, their home town. In February Mildred joined Ozarks Writers League, and also Branson Songwriters Association. Back home in Charleston, February 1999, Mildred soon became a member of Heartland Writers Guild. In 2006, she was accepted into Missouri Writers Guild as a professional writer. She is also a member of Mississippi County Historical Society. Mildred remains at home with her husband Al.
