In this exciting new book, Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA) past-president Dave DiBetta (Special Agent, retired) remembers the hundreds of cases, personalities, and experiences from his nearly 22 years with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
Anyone who has worked in law enforcement will appreciate the real life, behind-the-scenes stories…the hard work, long hours, humor, and frustrations associated with a career of federal service. In addition, Dave provides an inside look at when the warrant was served to the Branch Davidians at Waco, Texas.
“Dave DiBetta has written an action packed account of his 26 years of federal service. Everyone should read it.”—Ted Kaufman, former member of the U.S. Senate (2009-10)
About the Authors
Dave DiBetta’s government career began in the early ‘80s after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Fredonia. Dave enrolled in the U.S. Army and served in the military police where he represented First Army at the All-Army Pistol Championship. Following his military service, he worked for the IRS in the underwriter’s program until he received a full-time position as a Customs Inspector at JFK International Airport in New York. While at Customs, Dave applied for a position with Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, and for the next 22 ½ years he served as an ATF Special Agent.
At the conclusion of his ATF career in 2009, Delaware U.S. Senator Kaufman read Dave’s biography on the Senate floor. Among his many achievements, Dave revitalized the local chapter for the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association in Delaware. He became its chapter president before later serving as Agency President, representing all ATF agents nationwide.
