The New Orleans Police Department will soon celebrate the 220th Anniversary of its founding in 1796. To commemorate this milestone event, we are working on a new, library quality, full-color, hardbound book that will document the remarkable history of our department, and honor the men and women who continue to protect our great city. A detailed history of the New Orleans Police Department, exciting historic accounts, stories and full-color personnel portrait photos of current officers, personnel and retirees will be featured. The large, 9x12-inch, coffee-table style volume also will include division and unit information, awards, an "In Memoriam" tribute to members fallen in the line of duty.
