Author Bio

 

Mary Melton Lucas received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas and her master’s degree in history and education from Western Kentucky University. She was an instructor in the WKU Department of History from 1988 until 2005.

Lucas is the author of a novel published in 2012, and co-author of a book on Bowling Green World War I Air Ace, Victor H. Strahm, published in 2017. She does research on Bowling Green, Kentucky local history, and enjoys speaking in libraries and clubs about Bowling Green’s famous madam, Pauline Tabor. Those speaking engagements resulted in being gifted with many stories from residents who remembered the famous madam, which led to this book, The Madam at Six-Twenty-Seven Clay Street.
