Massachusetts State Police Salisbury Beach

In 1933, the Massachusetts State Police established a sub-station at Salisbury Beach, which at the time could host crowds of 40,000 who visited on summer weekends. The barracks remained active for more than 60 years, finally closed in 1995 as the area became less active and the need for a full-time law enforcement declined.

Massachusetts State Police—Salisbury Beach provides the history of the MSP Salisbury Beach Detail, Sub-station A-5, from 1933-1995, including the events in each decade and the men who patrolled this area, with hundreds of rare photographs.

Proceeds from the sale of this book will also help other communities and organizations preserve their history through Our American Heritage Project, a non-profit organization.
