Garry Warner was born in Syracuse, Kansas in 1943, and grew up on his parent’s family farm in South West Kearny county, Kansas. After graduating from Syracuse High School, he attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas and Kansas State Teachers College (now Emporia State University) in Emporia, Kansas, where he majored in Music Education.
Most of his adult life was spent in the automobile business in Wichita, Kansas, Omaha, Nebraska, St. Louis, Missouri, and finally in Sikeston, Missouri. He was a minority partner in Warner Pontiac, Oldsmobile, GMC in St Louis. He served on Pontiac and GMC zone dealer councils, and the GMC National Dealers Council.
He and his first wife, Shirley moved to Sikeston, Missouri in 1992, where they owned and operated Premier Motor Company until her death in 2010. In 2019, he married Nelia Regala from the Philippines. She died in 2021.
He has been a member of Kiwanis International since 1989 and is a past governor of the Missouri Arkansas District and a past International Trustee. He has been a member of First United Methodist Church since 1992. He has worked for Walmart Store Number 9 in Sikeston as a greeter/customer host since 2016.
