Peace In The Valley History of the Lompoc Police Department 1890-2008

PEACE IN THE VALLEY presents the history of the Lompoc Police Department from its days as a sleepy frontier town in the early 1900s, to the bustling, modern city of the 21st century. The book documents department leaders, methods and tools used throughout the years, and demonstrates how the department changed with the times.

Prohibition, the Great Depression, and foreign wars all had their impact on the Lompoc valley, but members of the Lompoc Police Department were always on hand to keep the public safe. Their stories are told through newspaper clippings, public records, authentic photographs plus a roster of over 300 department members through 2008.

Peace in the Valley is a wonderful tribute to the men and women who worked to Serve and Protect throughout the city’s storied history.
